New Hotel Alert: AC Hotel Phoenix Downtown

Disclaimer: Thank you AC Hotel Phoenix Downtown for hosting me during my two night stay.

I partnered with the AC Hotel Phoenix Downtown to give my audience an inside look at this brand new hotel! This European-inspired hotel located in the heart of downtown Phoenix and its modern touches make it the place to stay downtown. Here you will get an inside look of the hotel and all the highlights of my stay!

If you would like to experience the AC Hotel Phoenix Downtown you can book here.

Location, Location, Location!

The location of this hotel is so convenient and literally steps away from so many downtown Phoenix event centers as well as hundreds of restaurants and bars (which would be too long to list out).

Here are just a few places that are in close proximity of the AC Hotel Phoenix Downtown:

  • Chase Field (0.5 mile, 10 minute walk)
    • Home of the Arizona Diamondbacks, this is the perfect hotel to stay when headed to baseball game!
  • Talking Stick Resort Arena (0.6 mile, 13 minute walk)
    • In less than 15 minutes, you could be watching a Phoenix Suns basketball game or even an Arizona Rattlers indoor football game.
  • Phoenix Convention Center (0.2 mile, 4 minute walk)
    • So many events occur at the Phoenix Convention Center including industry conventions, home shows, bridal shows, competitions, etc. I’ve personally been here for cheer and dance competitions and this hotel would be a perfect place to stay with only a 4 minute walk!
  • Arizona State University Downtown (0.3 mile, 5 minute walk)
    • Just steps away from the A.S.U. downtown campus
  • Heritage Square and Science Park (0.3 mile, 6 minute walk)
    • A collection of historic homes and buildings with history/science museums and restaurants. I’ve been to a few weddings here as well.
  • Arizona Center (right outside of the hotel)
    • Just right outside the hotel is the Arizona Center which is home to shops and restaurants so you don’t have to go far to shop, eat, get sweet treats or even get your nails done.
  • Children’s Museum of Phoenix (0.3 mile, 6 minute walk)
    • Just a short walk away is a great activity to take your kids to!
  • The Van Buren Music Venue (0.8 mile, 16 minute walk)
    • Once indoor concerts start happening again, this hotel would be great to stay in for a concert night.

Below is a map showing the locations I just mentioned

Rooms and Atmosphere

Immediately upon check in I loved the atmosphere. The lobby and lounge area is beautiful and modern with ample lighting. There are many tables to sit and get work done in the lobby/lounge area. The outside patio area is gorgeous and a perfect place to spend an Arizona evening! I have stayed in many Marriott hotels and AC hotels before, and you can expect the same modern rooms in all AC hotels. Since the AC Hotel is European-inspired, the rooms are simplistic and modern. I stayed in a king room which had a large bathroom with rainfall shower, cozy king bed, couch with a pull-out bed, view of downtown Phoenix, table and chair, closet area and mini fridge. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay and the room was great! They are also doing their part to ensure your safety with their cleaning and sanitation measures.

AC Lounge and Kitchen

The AC Kitchen offers small plate options for breakfast along with espresso, coffee, and juice in the morning. I had their Sonoran Cazuela which includes fresh eggs, black bean puree, chorizo, cojita crema, crispy blue corn chips, and herb oil. It was a delicious light breakfast! In the evening you can enjoy some cocktails and tapas in the AC Lounge or Patio which has a fountain, fireplaces and outdoor seating. The lounge also offers live music Friday and Saturday nights and there is such a great ambiance. Their tapas provide a perfect appetizer before a night on the town, or if you prefer to stay in the hotel and a larger meal they do offer large plates consisting of chicken, steak or a burger. I also wanted to note that the waitresses Susan and Ilene as well as the bartender Nomas were super kind and friendly!

What we tried:

My husband and I shared their Charcuterie board (chorizo, garlic toast, sage derby cheese, La Quercia prosciutto, Marcona almonds, and quince paste), Achiote Shrimp Toast (Shrimp, roasted tomatoes, and Tuscan white bean puree on toast), and the Seared Tuna with Stuffed Olives. The Charcuterie board was our favorite! We also tried some of their cocktails during our stay and every one of them were delicious! Together we tried the Smoked Manhattan, Spice of Life, Pitahaya, and the Rosato Spritz. My husband had the Smoked Manhattan. The glass is smoked first, which was fun to see and the drink was very smooth and really good (even though I am not a bourbon drinker). He also had the Spice of Life which has green chili vodka and is my recommendation if you like spicy drinks, it was delicious! I had the Pitahaya which was refreshing and consists of rum and dragon fruit and it is a cute pink color. I also tried the Rosato Spritz which is perfect for a hot Phoenix evening as it is so good and refreshing!

24 Hour Fitness Center

When on vacation, I don’t always go to the hotel gym but for the month of March my goal is to run a mile every day. In the mornings I went up to the fitness center located on the top floor of the hotel and got my mile in! I was amazed at the beautiful panoramic view of downtown Phoenix as well as the fitness center set up and equipment, everything was top notch! The fitness center has dumbbells weights 5-50lbs, 2 weight benches, cycling machines, 2 elliptical machines, 4 treadmills, exercise balls, kettlebells, weighted balls, yoga mats, foam rollers, and a row/lat pull-down machine. Even if working out isn’t your thing, still be sure to check this fitness center out, just for the view!

Overall

The AC Hotel Phoenix Downtown is a beautiful hotel in a pristine location in the heart of downtown Phoenix. We had an amazing stay and the staff was so friendly! I can’t wait to return for baseball season once we can all enjoy live sports again!
